ACSKG guides certified to lead kayak trips in Canada must submit a copy of their ROC(M).  This VHF radio operators certificate is issued by Industry Canada, via Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons.

Guides operating exclusively outside of Canada are not required to submit a ROC(M), but are expected to obtain an appropriate local radio operators certificate.

The ACSKG may issue an "International Guide Certificate" to applicants who work exclusively outside of Canada.

ACSKG International Guide Certificates become valid for guiding in Canada only when presented with a Restricted Operators Certificate (Maritime) issued by Industry Canada.
